Universal Health Care = Pulling Out My Own Teeth!

If America has universal health care expect to wait years to get a simple operation and perhaps die during the wait. It will also be hard to get little checkups of quality care, for example a dentist. Now I know going to the dentist is not fun and nobody likes it, but you still have to go eventually.
However, dentists will be very hard to come by with a universal health care system. Expect to wait years to get on a list to see a dentist. Doctors do not want to pay all this money to go to school, work long hours, risk getting sued and all for a government paycheck. What would stop them from just pulling out your teeth? It is a lot faster, cheaper, and easier than drilling and putting crowns on.
At least we will all have bad teeth together right? No one will have better more quality care than you.
Take a look at this news story from England. Check out the terrible comments about dentists from people who live there and experience universal health care.

You can find many more stories of people who can’t get the treatment they need just because they can’t afford the insurance. My father (who is a doctor) serves on the executive boards of a couple different medical associations in Illinois. Most of his friends are doctors. I know A LOT of doctors, and every doctor I know supports universal health care. Doctors are tired of getting kicked around by lawyers and insurance companies. Doctors are tired of denying their patients treatment when the insurance companies won’t let those doctors give their patients the care that they need. It’s a thankless job, but with universal health care, doctors might not be any more appreciated for their hard work. We definitely will, however, see a much broader percentage of coverage for patients if the government started providing health care for all American citizens.
