Vice President Candidate Palin vs. President Candidate Obama
Governor Palin taxed the oil companies in Alaska because she was fixing the system. The oil companies were bribing the administration before her to keep the taxes low. Palin raised the taxes to get it back to normal and gave some of that stolen money back to Alaskans. That is where the $1,200 check came from (nytimes.com). Obama can only say that he wants to tax oil companies, not that he already has the experience.
In my post yesterday, I said it was a bummer that she taxed the oil companies, but it seems to be that there was a justified cause for this. Governor Sarah Palin is for lower taxes overall. And again as I said in yesterday’s post she thinks, “…a national windfall profits tax on oil companies will hinder domestic energy production”(Associated Press).
Not only was she not afraid to go after people in her own party, but she does have great experience in running things. Governor Palin has run and managed the state of Alaska and she is also a business women. I don’t know how running a state does not give her great experience with the economy.
As governor she controls the government’s growth, keeps the state balanced and the savings in tact all under a certain budget. “From the moment Governor Palin took office, she directed all state agencies to look for efficiencies and savings. Through a collective effort, the Governor was able to reduce general fund spending in the operating budget alone by over $124 million”(ontheissues).
Check out what Steve Forbes thinks of the different economic strategies between McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden:
I am just surprised that so many liberals are saying Sarah Palin is not experienced enough, when Barack Obama who is running for President is not experienced enough.

Obama has plenty of experience, and voters aren’t going to be taken in with this new fear card. Palin’s problem is that she’s simply just a way to get Hillary supporters on the McCain bandwagon. Nevermind the fact that McCain voted against measures to keep women’s wages equal to men’s and called his wife the c-word in front of a group of reporters. Nevermind the fact that Palin is vehemently anti-choice, wants creationism taught in schools, and only spoke to McCain once before in February. I’m not going to point out her lack of experience as a reason not to support her. Conservatives can do that on their own.
