John McCain’s Fantastic RNC Speech!
John McCain, a true hero of America gave his speech to be President of the United States tonight at the Republican National Convention. Here are just a few of the changes that he wants to make.
McCain talked all about how he wants to lower taxes to help the economy prosper. Lowering taxes helps small businesses to survive and create more jobs. Lowering taxes helps people to be able to afford products that are created by businesses.
McCain wants alternative energy as soon as possible, he does not want us to be independent on foreign oil. We cannot do nothing while we wait. And McCain is not a do nothing type of guy, he wants to drill in America and stop giving $700 billion to people who hate us!
The Maverick wants a limited Government and to lower Government spending. McCain wants to work with Democrats and Independents and use the best of every bodies’ ideas. McCain is for the people. He wants the people to choose what is good for them. He wants the people to have freedoms.
McCain will fight for this beautiful country. He is not afraid to take the offense if need be. He hates war, but there is good and evil out there and evil needs to be stopped.
I loved it when McCain said, “My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God. I’m going to fight for my cause every day as your President. I’m going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank Him: that I’m an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on earth, and with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach. Fight with me. Fight with me.
Fight for what’s right for our country.
Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.
Fight for our children’s future.
Fight for justice and opportunity for all.
Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.
Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.
Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We’re Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history” (gopconvention2008).

Drilling in America will not increase jobs by more than one tenth of one percent. We will not see a single drop of oil for a decade. The cost of making any new facilities to cooperate with even the bare minimum environmental standards presents a net loss over a ten year period for a commodity that will affect the price of gas at the pump by less than five cents. This is a distraction issue, plain and simple. Please understand that I worked for Sen. McCain in 2000, but I find myself wondering what happened to the man I knew back then. He never would have supported torture. He never would have voted against a bill he authored. He never would have voted to cut funding for veterans. He never would have hired Karl Rove’s staff to run his campaign. He never would have tapped a VP that ran a 527, or pulled the largest hunk of pork for the 3rd least populous state in the union. He never would have retreated to his base when things weren’t looking good. Tonight’s speech was a let-down for so many reasons. I am sad, and disappointed, and ashamed. Barack Obama will not receive my vote, but neither will John McCain. It’s down to Bob Barr or a write-in for Ron Paul.
I wish I had just read your post instead of watching the whole speech. I learned so little from the speech. Despite McCain’s declaration that this election is about us, not the candidates, he spent a huge majority of the speech expounding on his own credentials, record and experience. That’s great, but we already know it all; it’s not like he’s a new guy on the scene. He wasted a huge amount of air time that could and should have been used to explain how exactly he’s going to fix the economy, the rise in unemployment, the housing crisis–anything to do with giving Americans a chance of living financially comfortable again. Instead, he reared up the old, tired battle cry of the Republicans to “fight with me.” Really McCain? Haven’t we had enough fighting? Isn’t it time to worry about how to fix the problems in our own country before creating problems elsewhere?
Anyway… I was disappointed by his lackluster speech and the lack of answers he provided the people on the real issues we’re facing now.
Jess
He should try less fightin’ and a little more thinkin’… for a change.
The reason this economy is in the hole, is because we are fighting an unnecessary war. Gosh, if we had spent the money we spent in Iraq, on better security and energy here at home we would have so many more jobs and lower gas prices.
Terrorists must be laughing at us after Bush wasted all our money and invaded the wrong country.
I can’t wait to get the hell out of Iraq and start rebuilding our country, instead of someone else’s. What a dumbass Bush turned out to be.
