Happy American Energy Freedom Day! It is finally here! For once the do nothing Democrats in Congress did good by doing nothing and let the oil ban expired! The 27 year ban on off-shore drilling expired while everybody was concerned with the bailout deal. Yes, leases for oil companies are now available to drill on in a environmentally friendly way. The drilling ban has been included annually in spending bills and there is $25 billion in loans to help the auto industry build more fuel-efficient cars.
However, next year the Congress may change their mind. The Democrats want to make certain areas off-limits next year after the election. The Republicans will continue to fight off-shore drilling bans and help the states get a share in billions of dollars in royalties.
Finally at least the ban has been lifted and hopefully the oil companies will get to buy leases soon, it may be as early as 2010. And then the companies will be able to explore and drill in a environmentally friendly way . Don’t forget with the new technology of the oil companies they will actually help the oceans to be more clean by taking some of the oil out, therefore it will not seep into the ocean naturally.
Overall, if the oil companies are allowed to obtain leases with large quintiles of oil then we may have oil within 5 to 10 years on the market, all while searching for alternative energy. “It is estimated federal lands off the U.S. coasts could produce 18 billion barrels of oil and 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. With the advanced technology now available to the oil industry, though, Ranger said it is possible the areas could produce much more”(forbes.com). Don’t forget as soon as we start exploring oil prices will drop, just from speculation!
This is the McCain plan to drill environmentally safely while searching for alternative energy. While we search, lets alleviate hard working families’ gas bills and keep America more safe.
On Obama’s 10 year alternative energy plan, there is no alleviating hard working families’ gas bills. They will have to expect to pay around $30 a gallon to people who hate us, while we wait the 10 to 50 years for alternative energy.
During this economy, lifting the off-shore oil ban and allowing oil companies the leases with the 85% of oil will help create energy for America by Americans and create more jobs, which will all boost the economy.
Happy Energy Freedom Day! Now go for a little drive and celebrate! 
And by 2030, we might actually see some of that oil.

Let’s speculate about alternative fuel sources. We have the technology for solar, wind, and nuclear power now. Investing that money into new businesses rather than giving tax breaks to the oil companies is the best way to stop dumping money on the Saudis (or as “USA All the Way” and “Seeker of the Truth” so eloquently inform me, Barack Obama’s family).
I’ve been involved with small businesses for the majority of my life, and I can tell you that their owners make nowhere near $250,000. Obama’s tax plan, as we all must keep reminding the red team, would only raise taxes on the top 1.1% of Americans. Solidifying the middle class and regulating the economy to discourage monopolies is the change America needs. Reaganomics is so 1984.
And for USA All the Way and Seeker of the Truth (assuming you’re two different people), thanks for reminding me that it’s not racism as long as the one who’s preaching it is wearing a flag pin.
