I am Clinging to my Guns and Religion!
Obama is going to be President of the United States. Many people are in fear and doom and gloom. Well, we must not live in fear. Many changes will occur, but we must live on and prosper. Now is the time to turn to God.
Put your hope and faith in God. These earthly things do not matter. We must not concentrate so much on what happens hear on earth. We must concern ourselves with Jesus. Jesus does not want you to worry, Jesus will worry for us.
Lets all pray for Obama and people who have not found Jesus yet. God is very patient and waiting for all of us to come to him. Lets be patient and kind towards others, even when they are not kind towards us. God loves everybody, even the evil people. God keeps his promises and does not want anybody to perish.
Lets pray that Obama keeps us safe and makes the right decisions to protect our individual rights.
God does not change, he keeps his promises. Turn to God for hope, for he is the anchor for our soul in the midst of crisis and uncertain times.
Matthew 6
25″Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
Isaiah 42:16
Your Lord says, “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them…” You can’t see where you’re going right now, you’re into ground that is full of unknowns. God promises you that He’s going to lead you every unfamiliar step of the way … because it’s not unfamiliar to Him.

Romans 13:1-2 is a good passage regarding this as well. It’s very comforting.
I pray that God will continue to protect us and keep us safe. That’s who has been protecting us all along. We need to pray that God will keep the people in the White House safe, our president, and his family. Anything can happen any time. That’s why we need to watch and pray. It’s getting closer to the end of time. In the mean time, we live for Jesus and endure until the end. I’m glad that you know God.
>> “I am clinging to my guns and religion!”
Just like Jesus would, dammit!
Obama is a Christian, in fact, a fundamentalist Christian, so you ought to be able to get along. Still, I’ll pray for you that you stop being so damned prejudiced!
cgardner - Obama is NOT a Christian. He attended a Christian church (that was crazy by the way) so he could get elected to the senate and the to the presidency. And it worked because people like you are so foolish. He is a closet Muslim. Wake up.
Bookish - Look up Luke 22:36. Where Jesus tells his apostles to go sell their cloaks to buy swords. They didnt have gun back then, but the I think you will find that the scripture applies all the same.
Ally - Good post.

“Cling to your guns and religion” Ally. It is something that can never be taken away from you. Hold your religion sacred to you and find comfort in its teachings. Pay no mind to the nay sayers, for remember
1 John 3:13
Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
Something I feel you know all too well as a conservative blogger!
The people on this sight that call themselves Christians should be ashamed of themselves! A Christian does not speek of people that way. Obama was a memeber there for 20 years I dont think he was trying fool anyone. Im a conservative but I voted for Obama. And Obama is not racist…the fact is that many black people have negative views of white america because thats all we see. I grew up in a mostly white area in Indy and racism was still shown…not out in the open but still there. I dont get why you would think he is racist … he was raised in a white home…How can you hate a part of you? Im sorry but this sight has shown nothing but ignorance and hate. Yall are trying to cover that with religion…that is sinful and you sure repent!
*should
I can’t help but question the Christianity of a Christian that doubts the Christianity of another. If a person speaks with their mouth and accepts into their heart Jesus Christ who on Earth are we to judge? Its one thing to think that someone has lapsed but casting stones at someone and doubting their Christianity is a serious judgment. I might be loud, mildly opinionated, and a bit crazy at times but I would never think to say someone was not a Christian. At MOST I might say someone is guilty of some unChristian like behavior but even then I”d be treading on thin ice.
Sorry for getting speechy on her blog but questioning the faith of another, especially someone I don’t personally know, gets to me.
