Obama Man of the Year, but What will Change Next Year?

Published by allykat at 3:42 pm under obama Edit This

Obama has been named Man of the Year by the Times magazine . Congratulations to Obama, but what has he done? He has not done anything yet, he has only been elected. There is even a plate with Obama’s face that you can buy now, isn’t that a little early? Obama has a lot of promises to keep, we will see if he keeps his word.

He has quite a year ahead of him though, a terrorist attack is coming in Obama’s early days.

“The memorandums envision a variety of volatile possibilities, like a North Korean nuclear explosion, a cyberattack on American computer systems, a terrorist strike on United States facilities overseas or a fresh outbreak of instability in the Middle East, according to people briefed on them. Each then outlines options for Mr. Obama to consider.

The contingency planning goes beyond what other administrations have done, with President Bush and Mr. Obama vowing to work in tandem to ensure a more efficient transition in a time of war and terrorist threat. The commission that investigated the Sept. 11 attacks, noting problems during the handover from President Bill Clinton to Mr. Bush, called for a better process “since a catastrophic attack could occur with little or no notice,” as its report put it.”(nytimes.com)

Lets hope he holds up to being the Man of the Year and makes the right choices next year, for he will be tested. Hopefully Obama listens to some of the plans, appeasement is not the answer. I will be praying for him.

A catastrophic attack with little or no warning would be awful. You know what’s worse? A catastrophic attack with PLENTY of warnings that were all ignored so it wasn’t avoided when it may well have been.

The “handover” between Dubya and Bubba wasn’t the issue. It was the complete and total ignorance of the then incoming President of the facts presented to him.

As for the impending attack - based on what? Fear mongering is a terrible thing.

Oh, man. What great thing has Obama done to deserve being named Time’s Man of the Year? What did Vladmir Putin do? What did Adolf Hitler do? It’s a magazine, for crying out loud! Let the guy be featured in an issue and grow up.
