Obama Trying to Bait Republicans

Published by allykat at 9:25 am under economy Edit This

Government spending does not stimulate the economy. It hurts the economy. The money comes from one part of the economy and is transferred to another part of the economy, it does not create jobs or productivity. The money comes from you. Taxpayers. Taking money away from small businesses, causes job loss, less investment, and hurts the economy.

Obama went to Capitol Hill yesterday to try to talk the Republicans into his massive stimulus package, at almost $1 trillion dollars. He is baiting them with around $300 billion tax cut in the package of pork. I hope they do not fall for it, because these tax cuts are only temporary. Short term tax cuts, like the stimulus checks or rebates do not work. Long term tax cuts are key to stimulate the economy. If the Republicans fall for it, they are looking at hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending.

“…we cannot afford to be burdening our children and our grandchildren with an extra trillion dollars in debt,” said House Minority Whip Eric Cantor.(LATimes)

We all know how much the republicans hate deficit spending! Who was that republican president who had a budget surplus again?

As far as baiting goes, I’m pretty good at it. Some might even say I’m a master.

What’s great is the tax cuts go to the bottom 50% of taxpayers who pay nothing more than Social Security. He is basically making welfare cases out of almost 1/2 the population.

Ally, let me add a bit of humor I have found in all of this.

Were this ANY republican suggesting these tax cuts we would hear whines of “How are we going to pay for it.”

    Hearing any of this now?
