Happy American Energy Freedom Day! It is finally here! For once the do nothing Democrats in Congress did good by doing nothing and let the oil ban expired! The 27 year ban on off-shore drilling expired while everybody was concerned with the bailout deal. Yes, leases for oil companies are now available to drill on in a environmentally friendly way. The drilling ban has been included annually in spending bills and there is $25 billion in loans to help the auto industry build more fuel-efficient cars.

However, next year the Congress may change their mind. The Democrats want to make certain areas off-limits next year after the election. The Republicans will continue to fight off-shore drilling bans and help the states get a share in billions of dollars in royalties.

Finally at least the ban has been lifted and hopefully the oil companies will get to buy leases soon, it may be as early as 2010. And then the companies will be able to explore and drill in a environmentally friendly way . Don’t forget with the new technology of the oil companies they will actually help the oceans to be more clean by taking some of the oil out, therefore it will not seep into the ocean naturally.

Overall, if the oil companies are allowed to obtain leases with large quintiles of oil then we may have oil within 5 to 10 years on the market, all while searching for alternative energy. “It is estimated federal lands off the U.S. coasts could produce 18 billion barrels of oil and 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. With the advanced technology now available to the oil industry, though, Ranger said it is possible the areas could produce much more”(forbes.com). Don’t forget as soon as we start exploring oil prices will drop, just from speculation!

This is the McCain plan to drill environmentally safely while searching for alternative energy. While we search, lets alleviate hard working families’ gas bills and keep America more safe.

On Obama’s 10 year alternative energy plan, there is no alleviating hard working families’ gas bills. They will have to expect to pay around $30 a gallon to people who hate us, while we wait the 10 to 50 years for alternative energy.

During this economy, lifting the off-shore oil ban and allowing oil companies the leases with the 85% of oil will help create energy for America by Americans and create more jobs, which will all boost the economy.

The Nanci Pelosi bill passed in Congress yesterday. This bill includes drilling on 100 miles off the Pacific and Atlantic Coasts or beyond 50 miles if states approve it, more taxes on oil companies, and force companies to pay about $15 billion for the Gulf of Mexico leases given to them in the 1990s. The bill also allows 10% of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to the marketplace, which is suppose to be only used for natural disasters or war. Increased funding to the poor is on the bill as well. And if states agree there can be new exploration in the oil shale of the Mountain West.

Unfortunately 85% of known oil is found within the 50 miles of the coasts. So this bill is really just a scam to fool the American people that the Democrat-Controlled Congress wants to do the all the above energy plan. This bill will only raise gas prices. And this bill will not encourage oil companies to drill, if there is no oil to be drilled why would they waste millions of dollars drilling for nothing? The bill will also not allow royalties from leases to be shared with the states, therefore states will not have any incentive to allow drilling under the 50 miles from shore. The Republicans could not put in any amendments.

The bill still has to pass with 60 votes in the Senate. Fortunately, the Republicans are pushing for expanded drilling and nuclear power to be added to the bill and they will push until the election. Congress has to act by September 30th when the ban on drilling will expire.

“We have enough oil and natural gas resources to power 65 million cars for 60 years and heat 60 million households for 160 years,” but Congress will not let us use gasoline while we search for ways to let every single person be able to afford an alternative energy automobile(api.org).

And I have said it in a past post, but I’ll say it again, because so many people seem to think that taxing “Big Oil” companies is a good idea. Taxing “Big Oil” companies is really taxing You! “Only 1.5 percent of industry shares are owned by corporate management. If you have a mutual fund account, and 55 million U.S. households do, there’s a good chance it invests in oil and natural gas stocks. If you have an IRA or personal retirement account, and 45 million U.S. households do, there’s a good chance it invests in energy stocks“(api.org).

So if you want to pay more for gas and food and many other items than continue to NOT support Drilling Now!

Obama wants to continue with Pelosi’s plan. McCain wants to do the all the above energy plan. He wants to drill now and search for alternative energy fuels. Palin, the one with the most energy experience of all the candidates, wants to “crush the gridlock” of the do nothing Senate and Congress.(foxnews.com). We need the extra 50 years of American oil supply while we search for an alternative energy car that everybody can afford. And we cannot let the Democrat-Controlled Congress and Obama keeps us in danger, by keeping us on foreign oil.

On Monday Nancy Pelosi said on Larry King Live, that she may want to vote on drilling for oil as long as other alternative energy amendments are included. Pelosi was not real clear on what she wants the energy bill to contain.

And she still wants to commit the drastic mistake along with Obama and go into our energy oil reserves, which I wrote about in a past post . How much does she want to tax the oil companies too? Taxing oil companies will cause the price of oil to go up!

Drilling and searching for alternative energy sources was the plan when she left for recess. Why didn’t she vote before she left, because she really does not care about the American people. She thinks that gas prices are not high enough and would prefer to wait as long as possible or really not do anything at all. Why hasn’t she call back Congress to vote yet, perhaps she wasn’t serious, she just wanted to quiet everybody down.

We need to drill, while we search for alternative energy sources. It is critical for our safety to be independent of foreign oil, especially because of Russia recent attacks against Georgia. Sign the drill here drill now petition right now.

The U.S. oil and natural gas industry has made the air by far cleaner than the 1970s!

The EPA places such high environmental regulations on the oil companies that it does not make sense that people do not want to drill. The oil companies have to wait years to get the special environmental permits in order to start. Drilling is only a Temporary solution while we search for new ways to reduce our dependence on oil.

“The U.S. oil and natural gas industry has invested more than $160 billion since 1990 toward improving the environmental performance of its products, facilities and operations — $539 for every man, woman and child in the United States. In the year 2006 alone, $11.3 billion was spent implementing new technologies, creating cleaner fuels and funding ongoing environmental initiatives. An additional $1.6 went toward research and development, corporate environmental programs and spill remediation efforts”(api.org ).

Since the oil companies have donated so much money to better the environment and air that we all breathe, pollution levels have decreased, even though demand for oil has increased. Since 1970 the emission levels have actually decreased even though there are more drivers on the road!

Now Obama wants to drill a little bit offshore and he wants to tap into our emergency reserve.
So Obama wants to do both ideas again, he is both ways Obama. Just last month Obama was against tapping into our emergency petroleum reserve, now this month is an “emergency,” even though oil prices have gone done this month.  

Tapping into America’s energy reserve is not a good idea. Reserves are for natural disasters and war disasters. We can not just tap into our emergency reserve anytime we feel like it!

What will we do if say, the Middle East, Venezuela, and Mexico all stop selling us oil? Buy it from China at 5 times the price? How does $500 a barrel sound to you? That is why America has emergency oil reserve.

How much would Obama take out of the reserve and how much would he drill for? Obama should drill more instead, not make us unsafe in an emergency situation!

Oil and natural gas is a huge part of our everyday lives. We don’t just need more oil for our cars in order to get to from work, we need oil for a variety of other things. We need oil and natural gas for aspirin, artificial hearts, pace makers, band aids, contact lenses, sunglasses, feedstock, computers, fertilizers, surgical equipment, roofing, cell phones, clothing, cleaning supplies, Cds, portable music players, life jackets, and many more items….

Taxing “Big” oil companies will NOT lower gas prices, there is no credible proof. Besides these “Big” oil companies are largely owned by the middle class. So when Obama says he wants tax “Big” oil companies he is hurting the middle class hard working families even more.

Oil companies already pay their fair share in taxes too, they pay almost double their share! They pay more than other manufacturing companies as well. “According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the industry’s 2006 income tax expenses (as a share of net income before income taxes) averaged 40.7 percent, compared to 22.1 percent for U.S. manufacturing companies”(api.com).

There are only 4 legislative weeks left for Congress before the next President of the United states is elected. And that is why Nanci Pelosi is touring around on talk shows promoting her new book, “Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters.”

“She’s got time to go out and promote her new book tour and her new book, but she doesn’t have time to schedule a vote on the floor of the House and let the American people have their will expressed?” said House Minority Leader Boehner (foxnews.com ).

Pelosi does not care what the America people want, she only cares about what she wants and her power. “A recent CNN poll conducted by the Opinion Research Corp. found that 72 percent of those polled supported more offshore drilling. About a quarter — 27 percent — backed Pelosi’s position. The poll, conducted June 26-29, has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points”(cnn.com ).

People want the compromised bill that would drill for more oil and search for alternative energy sources. Pelosi does not want to compromise, she does not want any drilling, even though we can now do it in a way that is environmentally friendly.

Pelosi is stalling the voting process so Barack Obama will come into office and the American people’s wishes and finances will be crushed. Pelosi and Obama want gas prices to go higher so less people will drive, which will “save” the planet.

New Hampshire has finally given in to Hugo Chavez “free” heating oil for poor families. New Hampshire is the last of the northeastern states to accept the oil for poor families.

Citizens Energy, a non-profit organization will manage the free oil giveaway to poor families and homeless shelters. The “free” oil is sold to Citizens Energy at a 40% discount of market value. Hugo Chavez is actually hurting his own people by doing this, all to put down democracy in America and other countries. Chavez helped raised the oil prices and then sold it at lower prices to make it look like he was doing a good deed as well. Chavez’s poor mining conditions are horrible to people and the rain forest.

Hugo Chavez is not somebody to be friends with. Hugo Chavez is a dictator who has told other countries that they all need to take America down. Hugo Chavez considers himself a friend to North Korea, Iran, Iraq, and a close friend of Fidel Castro. This “free” oil is just a ploy to help Hugo Chavez look good. To make socialism look good and to take down America.

America also accepts gasoline from Hugo Chavez’s government run gasoline company, CITGO. It is terrible, and disgraceful that we accept anything from countries that want to kill us all. We are helping them to kill us. We really need to become independent from foreign oil soon!

The House of Representatives voted on the bill to force oil companies to use their leases or give up their leases and ban export of crude oil drilling in Alaska. The bill failed, it did not get enough votes from democrats too.

Again the democrat-controlled congress wants to hurt America by raising our high gas prices. And the democrat-controlled congress wants to keep America unsafe and dependent on foreign oil. Republicans said they did have enough votes to amend the bill to lift the ban on offshore drilling, but the republicans were blocked by the democrats.

I know many people think that they have to ban offshore drilling because we are addicted to oil. We are not addicted to oil. Our society runs on oil and more countries are demanding a greater and greater supply of it. We need oil to get by right now and as soon as we find alternative ways we will use them, which could be 30 years or more before we are all driving an new alternative fuel car, but in the meantime we need oil.

Thank goodness the democrat-controlled congress lost today, their bill would have greatly hurt the economy even more! This gives me hope that the ban will be lifted one day!

President Bush has lifted the executive ban on drilling for oil in America. Last month he said he would lift the Presidential ban when the democrat-controlled congress lifted the ban. However the democrat-controlled congress took no action whatsoever by Independence day. They did not even schedule hearings they are treating it as a joke.

Will the congress ever vote for drilling, to help the American people have relief immediately? That is the question and it seems unlikely, too many environmentalists are with them.

First let me make clear, I am all for finding alternative fuels to oil. Everybody is. Bush and McCain would love to find a way to completely decrease oil. McCain has plans to search for alternative fuels, such as the 300 million dollar incentive to any American to build a better car battery, that I mentioned in a past post . Finding alternative years could take 30 years and I do not want to pay $30 a gallon waiting for the alternative fuel.

If the environmentalists really cared about the environment they would want America to drill in America. America’s drilling technology has greatly improved over the last 30 years. Our drilling technology is very environmentally friendly and we have the strictest rules, stricter than many other countries. If we drill in America we will do so in a way that is better for the environment than other countries are doing right now.

Nature itself actually seeps oil into the ocean and onto land. Taking some oil out of the ocean would actually help nature from seeping more oil into the ocean. Researchers stated in article that, “…if the 50 percent reduction in natural seepage rate that occurred around Platform Holly also occurred due to future oil production from the oil field beneath the La Goleta seep, this would result in a reduction in nonmethane hydrocarbon emission rates equivalent to removing half of the on-road vehicle traffic from Santa Barbara County. In addition, a 50 percent reduction in seepage from the La Goleta seep would remove about 25 barrels of oil per day from the sea surface, which in turn would result in a 15 percent reduction in the amount of tar found on Santa Barbara beaches”(source: ucsb.edu ).

Also oil companies are not drilling on the leases of land that they have now, because there is not enough oil to warrant spending the millions of dollars it costs to drill. As a business it is not a good investment to drill when there is not enough supply, especially when they know there is about 17.8 billion of barrels off limits right now.
