Happy Religious Freedom Day!

January 16th is “Religious Freedom Day” in America, which has been proclaimed by the President since 1993.

“This commemoration marks the passage on January 16, 1786, of a significant document authored by Thomas Jefferson: the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.”(heritage.org)
Today is the time to reflect on our great freedom to believe or not believe in any religion you want. Around the world many others do not have the religious freedom that we do and often have to pay in their death, here are the top 10 Persecution stories of 2008.

Our founding fathers escaped persecution from their King in order to give every human, freedoms and rights that were given to us not be government, but by our divine creator.

May Americans not be sued for not wanting to do something, because of their religious beliefs. May we all look towards God more instead of the government. May “so help me God,” always stay at the President’s inauguration. May “Under God,” always stay in Jesus Christ is our Lord and SaviorAmerica’s pledge of allegiance. May “In God we Trust,” always stay on America’s currency.

Goodbye God at Obama’s Inauguration?

There is an atheist group that has filed a lawsuit to remove the prayer and the phrase, “So help me God,” from Obama’s inauguration.

First of all, thank God that we all live in America where such a discussion can even take place. In America we have the freedom to believe or not believe in any religion we please. Our Founding Fathers came here to escape being persecuted because of their religious beliefs.

Second of all, the first amendment means that the Government can not announce an official national church or religion. “…It doesn’t mean that public ceremonies can not include prayers or acknowledgment of the existence of God. The atheists, while they have every right to practice their atheism, they do not have an absolute right not to be exposed to viewpoints they don’t agree with. So I think this lawsuit has no merit whatsoever,” said Peter Sprigg, vice president for policy at the Family Research Council.(foxnews.com)

I guess we will see what happens. It will be a shame to take God away from the people of a nation where the majority of people believe in God.

Merry Christmas to All!

Nativity SceneMerry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone is relaxing with their loved ones on this wonderful Christmas day.

Today we celebrate the birth of Christ, our Lord and Savior. We celebrate his life and the fact that Jesus is life. Jesus was born perfect and sinless. And he gave us the best present we will ever receive. Jesus gave his life for us, so we can live forever with God in Heaven.

All we have to do is accept this wonderful gift and all of our sins are forgiven. That is it, all we have to do is believe.

Jesus died on the Cross for us!

We are all sinners, every last one of us, yet God loves all of us. And he is waiting patiently for all of us to come to him.

May we all seek God more and ask him to fill our hearts, so we can be full of love, patience, and peace everyday.

Christian Conservative?

Some people have told me that I am focusing too much on religion lately and should get back to politics more. I am a Christian Conservative and Conservative values are based on the Christian values. So I find it hard to separate the two.

I believe that too many people in our society are falling away from God and religion.

America’s Constitution is based on Jesus, the Bible, and the 10 commandments. Christianity is about free choice and freedoms. And in order for us to remain free, we must be able to self-govern ourselves. A tyranny government nor chaos, cannot be in control, because that is not freedom.

Since Obama was elected many changes have happened and will happen. Changes have occurred in this blog too, I have turned towards God more for hope and peace. And I think the fact that myself and others have turned towards God more is a very positive thing.

Which Church Will Obama Attend in the White House?

What church will the Obamas attend when they are in the White House? Many people of different religions are wondering and they like it when their President continues going to a church while in the White House.

Obama uses his faith to help his policy decisions. So his faith is very important to him and is a big issue.

And since the Obamas have left the Trinity United Church of Christ for political reasons, which one will Barack Obama choose now? Will he choose a Christian church, because the majority of Americans are Christian? And will his church be of Black Theology?

Or will Obama choose to go back to his Muslim roots. As Egyptian cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal says he needs to convert to Islam, for every other religion is utter humiliation. Here are the excerpts of Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal from JihadWatch.org and the video can be found at Memritv.org.

Following are excerpts from an address delivered by Egyptian cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal, which aired on Al-Nas TV on November 27, 2008.

Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal: Let me take this opportunity to address the leader of Europe, and the leader of America, who is the leader of the world, the recently-elected Obama, who is the leader of the Byzantines – he is like the Byzantine leaders in the days of Prophet Muhammad.

My message to him is three-fold. First, I invite him to convert to Islam. This is the call of the Prophet and of Allah. Oh Obama – convert to Islam, and you will be saved. I hope that Allah will reward you twice: Once for converting to Islam, and another reward for all those who will convert in your footsteps. If you want glory – you will find it in Islam. If you want honor – you will find it in Islam. In religions other than Islam there is utter humiliation, even if you are the president of the entire world.

You, Obama, are among those who have pledged before Allah – Allah who created you, sustained you, and brought you to this position – to be a Muslim who believes that Allah is the one God, especially since you have some kind of roots in Islam. Convert to Islam, and you will be saved. All glory and honor lie in following Allah and His messenger Muhammad. Know that the true religion is the religion of Islam, and all other religions are fabricated religions, which are null and void – religions that were abrogated by the shari’a of Muhammad.

If you refuse to return to your [Islamic] origins, to the way Allah created you, withdraw your huge armies and military bases from the lands of the Muslims. Know that all your predecessors have ended up in the garbage bin of history, and that America’s black and bleak history in the land of the Muslims and the Arabs constitutes an evil omen for you, your predecessors, and your successors. Know, Obama, that America, with all its size and might, will know no peace, as long as a single Muslim child lacks food, drink, medicine, or housing. If you refuse, Obama, and insist on remaining in Muslim lands, know that Allah still plants in [Muslims] obedience to Him, and they are willing to wait for Paradise, which is closer than their own shoelaces.

Know, Obama, that in the lands of Islam, there are people who seek death, and are eager for it, even more than you and your people are eager for life – any kind of life, even a life of humiliation.

So the Egyptian cleric is basically telling Obama to convert to Islam or die and cause Americans to die. Lets hope Obama does not appease here.

Obama seems to be contiunously growning and changing in his faith, so it does make me wonder what he will choose next.

Does God Cause Good and Evil?

Does God cause everything that happens, good and evil?

God knows what is going to happen for he is past, present, and the future. God is good, he cannot be next to sin. God gave humans free will to choose.

Humans chose to know evil. It goes back to Adam and Eve. God told Adam and Eve to eat of any fruit they wanted to, but not of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for they will surly die. They choose to know of evil.

God’s grace is amazing. God loves everybody no matter what, even evil people. He wants to be with us all, but he cannot because every human being has been born into sin from Adam. We are all sinners.

So he gave his only son Jesus Christ as a gift for us to be with him again. He gave us a second chance. Jesus Christ is God’s son and was perfect. He committed no sin. Jesus gave his perfect life for us, so our sins would be washed away. Jesus’ death gave us life. Jesus is about life. And God used the evil that caused Jesus crucifixion to bring about eternal life.

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,”- 1 Peter 3:18

All we have to do is accept and believe in God’s gift and we will be worthy to be with God in Heaven. We strive to be good and follow God’s will, but our good deeds do not get us into heaven. We have to believe, that is it.

The Devil is very real and so is hell. God chased the Devil who was an angel out of heaven. And we have the choice to do the Devil’s work or God’s work.

God uses evil to defeat evil and produce good. And when we face the choice to do something evil or good, what we choose makes us better or worse. We all have to struggle with our desires and feelings that want to give in to sin. We must fight the evil and choose to be good.

The War on Christmas!

The war against Christmas is getting stronger and all for more sales.

The American Humanist Association wants to put advertising signs on buses starting next week in Washington D.C. that reads: “Why Believe in a God? Just be Good for Goodness’ Sake”(foxnews.com).

I find this insulting. They are insulting God! All for sales.

Tim Wildmon from the American Family Association stated, “How do we define ‘good’ if we don’t believe in God? God in his word, the Bible, tells us what’s good and bad and right and wrong. If we are each ourselves defining what’s good, it’s going to be a crazy world.”Keep Jesus Christ in Christmas Billboard sign

They say, it is for the people that are atheist, so they will not feel insulted. Why do they feel insulted? And why didn’t the sign just say: “Just be Good for Goodness’ Sake.” The sign does not even need to question people’s belief in God.

Also, “Last month, the British Humanist Association caused a ruckus announcing a similar campaign on London buses with the message: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life”(foxnews.com).

Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. It should not be treated in such a disregard to people who believe.

I think that people who believe in God have been silent over the years as Christmas is being taken out of everything more and more. Well, it is time to fight back. Why do we let the minority of America who do not believe in God step on God the way they do?

“A Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life poll from early this year found that 92% of Americans believe in God”(foxnews.com).

The American Family Association has been fighting back! They even have a list of stores that recognizes Christmas and stores that do not, click here.  They also have buttons and stickers that you can buy that say, “It’s Ok to say Merry Christmas.” Buy a bunch and give them to your friends. You can even buy a large pack and donate them to your church. If we wear these buttons the whole Christmas season, hopefully we will make a difference!

The AFA also states: “Some might think simply wearing a button or displaying a Glossy Sticker is a small thing, but God can use small things to make a big point, and to create opportunities to share the Good News. And what a great time to do that at Christmas!”

Spread the Wealth from Your Heart Not by Force!

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.” (Prov. 19:17 NIV; see also Prov. 14:31 and 29:7

God wants all of us to be responsible and all of us to help the poor. Our indivdual responsbilities to help the needy should not be placed on the government.

There is a big difference in the government forcing you to “spread the wealth” around and you willing to give out of your own heart.

Forcing someone to do something is not about freedom and choice. And God is all about freedom, choice, and love.

God wants our hearts in it. He wants us to form a relationship with the poor people. And to help your neighbor or friend in need. Giving to your church or charities have been proven to help the poor better than the government. Charities are better at helping people one on one than the government.

The government has proven to be unsuccessful in helping the poor. Programs like social security are not working. The government has been heading down the wrong path for a long time by performing the roles of the church and charities. The church, government, and the people need to realize this more. And Obama’s socialist plans will make the world a worst place not better. People know how to spend their own money better than the government.

 “In 1964, we started the War in Poverty. We have spent over $10 trillion to combat a poverty rate that stood at 14% when the “war” started. It is still at 14% and now we redistribute over $1 trillion a year. In other words, despite all of that redistribution, despite the loss of all our freedom, despite all of those taxes – the policies and programs produced very little results - and yet we continue to enact such polices almost without critical thinking.

In light of that, in my view, it is time we understand the genius of our Founding Fathers. We must renew their Revolution against confiscatory government and their rejection of Obama’s fundamentally flawed thinking before our civilization falls by the wayside of other failed socialist experiments”(politicalvanguard.com).

How does forcing a rich guy to give his money away make him want to work more for the fruits of his labor when it will just be taken away from him? Also, the rich guy became rich by providing a service or helping people, so why would he want to help more people if he was going to be punished and forced to give up his money?

And yes, Jesus does want us to pay taxes. Jesus said, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” Our money is not ours. It is Gods. Everything comes from God, but that does not mean that you must give everything to help the poor. There is no strict set of rules of how much you have to give.

God said there will always be poor no matter what. And we should help them out of our hearts voluntarily.

Also God never said that money is evil. He wants people to strive to make more money and spend their money wisely. Greed is evil, not money itself. To love money more than anything else and more than God is sinful. God wants us to be compassionate, generous, and to love one another from our hearts.

“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”[NIV](2 Corinthians 9).

Should You Always Obey the Government?

Romans 13

 1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

President Obama will be the President of the United States soon and we should respect him and pray for him. The office of the President and the Government should be respected and we should obey. However, just because Obama will be President does not mean we have to agree with everything he does. And we should critique him, it is our freedom and right to do so. One should fight for their individual freedoms. If Obama does try to change the Constitution of the United States and limit our individual freedoms, I will fight.

The Constitution gave us a republic with a limited government and many individual freedoms. With many individual freedoms, we must have self-government, which is what America is founded on.

When it comes to God and the Bible, government does not just mean civil government. Self-government is the most important and the founding fathers knew this, which is why religion is encourage. The second most important government is the family, third is the church, and last is the civil government.

Our Constitution specifically limit’s the power of the civil government for a reason. If the civil government is given too much power they can take away our individual freedoms and become a tyranny.

According to the Bible, the purpose of the institution of civil government is justice. To punish sin and evil and to provide national security.

Romans 13 teaches that the President of the United States and every government official must submit to the U.S. Constitution and are the ordinance of God.In God We Trust!

God did not ordained a particular ruler, but the institution of civil government. God does not say to submit to and obey evil persons and their government no matter what, only when they are good. Every citizen should obey the civil government, but only when the civil government does not stop the citizen from obeying God and the U.S. Constitution.

A sermon from John Mayhew, “…urges the duty of obedience from this topic of argument, that civil rulers, as they are supposed to fulfill the pleasure of God, are the ordinance of God. But how is this an argument for obedience to such rulers as do not perform the pleasure of God, by doing good; but the pleasure of the devil, by doing evil; and such as are not, therefore, God’s ministers, but the devil’s! Is resisting those who resist God’s will, the same thing with resisting God?” (wnd.com)

I am Clinging to my Guns and Religion!

Obama is going to be President of the United States. Many people are in fear and doom and gloom. Well, we must not live in fear. Many changes will occur, but we must live on and prosper. Now is the time to turn to God.

Put your hope and faith in God. These earthly things do not matter. We must not concentrate so much on what happens hear on earth. We must concern ourselves with Jesus. Jesus does not want you to worry, Jesus will worry for us.

Lets all pray for Obama and people who have not found Jesus yet. God is very patient and waiting for all of us to come to him. Lets be patient and kind towards others, even when they are not kind towards us. God loves everybody, even the evil people. God keeps his promises and does not want anybody to perish.

Lets pray that Obama keeps us safe and makes the right decisions to protect our individual rights.

God does not change, he keeps his promises. Turn to God for hope, for he is the anchor for our soul in the midst of crisis and uncertain times.

Your Lord says, “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them…” You can’t see where you’re going right now, you’re into ground that is full of unknowns. God promises you that He’s going to lead you every unfamiliar step of the way … because it’s not unfamiliar to Him.
