So John McCain might be old enough to be your father or grandfather. On this father’s day I think we should respect our elders and give a little more thought on why and who we are going to vote for on this Presidential election.

I keep hearing that young votes support Obama because they relate to him more. Young voters relate to Obama because he is young and “cool.” I don’t get it. Obama is 46 years old, how do people under 25 relate to him being 20 years older than them? I personally do not want the President of the United States of America to be young.

No, I want the President to be old with a lot of experience. How does being young help you to do a good job as commander in chief? Also how is Obama “cool,” because he can speak well? Being a good speaker is something that elementary children should be complimented on, it should not be one of the main reasons to vote for the President.

McCain has not tried too hard to look cool, which actually makes him cooler. “He’s not going to blow the saxophone on MTV or talk about boxers or briefs,” says Christopher Malone, an associate professor of political science at Pace University in New York.

McCain goes after the young vote too, he has campaign at many colleges. He is against gun control, but he does not support criminals from gaining access to guns. John McCain also supports Global Warming, which many young voters greatly support. John McCain will cut gas taxes, which will help to decrease the high gas prices! John McCain supports the call for a Justice Department Mortgage abuse task force. And he is proposing a student loan continuity plan. “John McCain will modernize and transform our current programs by consolidating redundant federal programs, strengthening community colleges and technical training and giving displaced workers more choices to find their way back to productive and prosperous lives“(JohnMcCain.com ).

John McCain may be for the war on terror. However, many people in the military support John McCain over Barack Obama. John McCain wants the military to have everything that they need to be protected. I think that when it comes to our time of war, it is best to go with what the people in the military support.
